Before you take a holiday, consider taking a stand this summer. Join former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, medical professionals, victims and advocates on Saturday, June 29thfrom 11:00 am until noon at the Orlando Museum of Art, 2416 North Mills Avenue, Orlando, FL 32803 at a rally for gun violence research funding. Gun violence has reached a 40-year high while research funding has been missing in action for more than 20 years. The U.S. House of Representatives included funding for research in their appropriations bill, the United States Senate now needs to act. Join this historic coalition of more than ten local, national and international organizations including Giffords’ own Courage to Fight Gun Violence, Doctors for America, Equality Florida, League of Women Voters, American Academy of Pediatrics, Inc., This Is Our Lane, Florida Psychological Association, Florida Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Student Association and the Florida Coalition to Prevent Gun Violence to find out how you can take a stand and make a difference.
