4U: A Symphonic Celebration of Prince
The color purple is said to represent royalty. Most everyone agrees that the artist known as Prince was one of music’s most loved royals. Most of us remember our first Prince concert and know exactly where we stood on April 21, 2016 when the musical phenomenon lost his life.
Dr. Phillips Center will present 4U: A Symphonic Celebration of Prince on October 7, 2018 at the Walt Disney Theater. “4U” is curated, produced, and directed by Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson of The Roots, widely known to be one of Prince’s biggest fans and musical genius in his own right. This production is the first and only estate-approved Prince celebration. Throughout the program, some of Prince’s biggest hits as well as some lesser known ‘B side’ selections will be played by an all-star band, hand selected by Questlove himself. A spectacular video presentation featuring never-before-seen footage accompanies the celebration, courtesy of Prince’s estate. Showtime is at 7:30pm. Visit www.drphillipscenter.org for additional information.
